Netflix delivers a pleasant surprise for indie film lovers with Charlie Kaufman’s I’m Thinking of Ending Things. While the movie might be appealing to some, but also a little too overbearing for others, I’m Thinking of Ending Thing deviates from the standard Netflix formula and ends up being one of the most unique films we’ve seen on the platform so far.
The Disaster Artist is an entertaining, interesting and pretty funny drama/comedy with an excellent performance from James Franco.
Loving Vincent, the first fully painted animation feature, is a solid movie with outstanding visuals.
Well-shot, directed, acted and written, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is an interesting and sometimes funny dark comedy/drama with excellent performances from Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell.
Decent end to new apes trilogy, War of the Planet of the Apes is pretty good drama with outstanding special effects.
Logan is a different superhero movie that stands out from the competition – it is serious, gritty and violent R-rated (SF) action drama in which all parts are very well done. Best superhero movie of the year.
Detroit, a true story about one of the largest riots in United States history, is a well-made drama.
Mindhunter is an intelligent, interesting and engaging TV show with excellent performances and strong characters and script about early days of FBI profilers.
Mother! really is a different movie, an experience that is sometimes engaging and sometimes annoying and exhausting; a movie that tests the patience of the audience.
The last movie from Christopher Nolan (Memento, TDK trilogy, Inception, Prestige, Interstellar) received excellent reviews, some of them calling it maybe the best war movie ever. Well in my humble opinion it is one of the most disappointing movies of 2017.
