Chris Pine in talks to play lead role in “The Saint” reboot

Paramount Pictures is doing a reboot of The Saint, based on the novel series written by Leslie Charteris from 1920s . The Saint will be directed by Dexter Fletcher (Rocketman, Eddie the Eagle) and written by Seth Grahame-Smith (The Lego Batman Movie).
Chris Pine (Star Trek, Wonder Woman, Carriers) is in talks to play a lead role of Simon Templar (better known as The Saint), a thief for hire who goes on a various adventures.
Novel series already spawned a radio show, a TV series in 1960s with Roger Moore in the lead role and a 1997 movie with Val Kilmer, directed by Phillip Noyce (Clear and Present Danger, Dead Calm, The Quiet American, The Bone Collector), which was a solid hit at the time.
