First trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom released
After Universal released a teaser two days ago, today we got a first official trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, a sequel to 2015 smash hit Jurassic World.
After first Jurassic Park, directed by Steven Spielberg (Jaws, Indiana Jones franchise, Duel, Minority Report, Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan), exploded on box office in 1993. we got two sequels – The Lost World in 1997, also directed by Steven Spielberg, and Jurassic Park III, directed by Joe Johnston (Captain America: The First Avenger, Jumanji). First one was actually pretty good Hollywood blockbuster with outstanding special effects at that time. Regarding those two sequels, neither of them was good as the first one and they didn’t make as much money as the original.
Fourteen years later after Jurassic Park III, we got another Jurassic movie, called Jurassic World, that was a part sequel, part reboot. In my humble opinion, Jurassic World wasn’t particularly good but it made a lot of money – at the time it held box office record for the best opening weekend with $208.8M and it sits at number 4 at the all-time worldwide box office. So, I’m not expecting much from this one, but we’ll see.
Here’s a trailer.
It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles. When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, directed by J.A Bayona (A Monster Calls, The Orphanage), will be released on June 22, 2018, and stars Chris Pratt, Jeff Goldblum, Bryce Dallas Howard, BD Wong and James Cromwell.
