Spider-Man: Homecoming is a third version of Spider-Man in 15 years (after 3 movies from Sam Raimi with Tobey Maguire and 2 movies with Andrew Garfield) and first one set in MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Also, it is a second time Spider-Man appeared in MCU after a small part in last year Captain America Civil War.

I managed to finish Spider-Man: Homecoming from 2nd try – it’s not that this movie is that bad but I’m just not a fan of Spider-Man. Holland is actually pretty good and convincing as an excited and playful kid who just wants to help (and crack a joke or two.) But that is one of the problems – I found him little annoying, especially at the beginning of the movie. And jokes for me weren’t funny at all but I can imagine if I was 20 years younger I would probably find it funny. His friend, a comic sidekick, is even worse.

But the rest of the movie is not bad but it’s not much more either – it’s just a so-so movie.

I liked that main villain is not trying to destroy a world (thank God) and is just trying to provide for his family by dealing weapons. He’s played by Michael Keaton who is actually pretty good here – I can say that he’s one of the better MCU villains. The action is solid, CGI is just a so-so, music is ok and for the bigger part movie is not just a CGI orgy fest.

And Marvel, can you please stop putting Iron-Man in every other movie – his solo movies were bad (ok, except first one that was watchable) and he already appeared in so many movies that I get a feeling he’s in every movie of your cinematic universe.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is a watchable (and forgettable) superhero movie that is aimed at younger audience. So, if you have 18 years or less go and watch this movie. If you’re older I don’t think you’ll enjoy it very much.
