Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be released on Disney Plus on May 4th

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, latest installment of possibly the most popular franchise of all time, will be released on Disney Plus on May 4th 2020. The release date of Rise of Skywalker aligns with Star Wars Day (May 4th), and on the same day Disney will release some more Star Wars content – an eight-episode documentary series on the making of The Mandalorian and Clone Wars Season 7 finale.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker infuriated a lot of Star Wars fans, didn’t impress professional critics (53 on Metacritic and 52% on Rotten Tomatoes) and was also viewed as a somewhat of commercial disappointment. Don’t get me wrong, The Rise of Skywalker made a lot of money but just not as much as Disney and producers were hoping for (it is a lowest grossing movie of any new Star Wars movies besides Solo). But this is still a good news for Star Wars fans around the world as from May 5th they can watch almost all Star Wars movies on one platform (Solo still won’t be available on Disney Plus due to licensing agreement with Netflix).
Personally, I couldn’t make it till the end of Rise of Skywalker as for me it was, plain simple, a dull Hollywood blockbuster with a lot of action and explosions without real characters or good story. But worst thing I can say for a movie like this is it was so boring – I just didn’t cared for any of the characters or what was happening on the screen. But then again, I was never a Star Wars fan :).
